The Billerica, Massachusetts location of the Courtyard Marriott was renovated as recently as 2023, and is a very comfortable stay for handicapped or disabled individuals. We rate it a nine out of ten. At 24 miles from downtown Boston and 25 miles from Logan Airport, it is a fine hotel for those who have access to adequate transportation.
There are a whopping eight accessible parking spaces at the front of the building, and the front door is touchless and powered. The front desk sits at a comfortable height of 30”, and there are two washrooms on the first floor – one at each side of the hotel. Also on the first floor is an ATM, grand ballroom (which splits into three smaller rooms), laundry area, fitness area, and pool with an ADA lift. The latter two have an accessible washroom next to them. There is also an accessible bar area, which sits at a height of 33.5”. The building consists of seven floors, all of which are served by two elevators, and there is braille signage throughout the entirety of it.
The hotel offers an impressive ten handicapped accessible rooms – two of which have roll-in showers – and seven rooms equipped for the hearing impaired. We toured two of these. One was room 621, which was both equipped for the hearing impaired and handicapped accessible. The room featured an accessible push button entrance to the bathroom. The other was room 211, a handicapped accessible room that featured an interior door that connected to the opposite room. It did have a roll-in shower, with handrails for both the shower and toilet. However, there was no emergency phone in the bathroom.
