The Archer in Burlington, MA is a stylish boutique hotel built in 2019. Located on Burlington’s fashionable 3rd Avenue, guests are a short walk from several restaurants, bars, shops, and a Wegman’s supermarket loaded with quality groceries and prepared foods. Archer is also conveniently situated six minutes from Lahey Hospital & Medical Center. Labeled a “Four Diamond Hotel” by AAA and “the number 1 hotel in Burlington” by TripAdvisor, this new facility places priority on guest experience—including the experience of guests with disabilities. The rustically decorated Archer Kitchen + Bar offers dine-in and to-go options every day but Sunday. 

Archer’s outdoor parking lot features four up-front power-accessible parking spots. The front door is power accessible and leads to an accessible front desk, sitting at a height of 37 inches. The main lobby has an accessible washroom. Beyond the lobby there is a large conference room with an accessible peep hole in the door. A computer area available to guests includes one desktop computer with desk dimensions of 29 inches (top) and 27.75 inches (bottom). Archer offers an accessible pool with an ADA lift; the pool also has an emergency phone and two accessible washrooms. Braille signage is offered throughout the hotel on all signs and placards. 

Archer offers four accessible rooms, two of which feature equipment for hearing-impaired guests. We toured all four rooms and will review some of their features as follows. The first accessible room we toured was Room (204), which offers a single king-sized bed. The room door contains an accessible peep hole. A roll-in shower with shower wand is offered. There is no emergency phone in the bathroom. This room also offers power-accessible draperies.

Room (225) is an accessible room that also accommodates the hearing-impaired. This room features a connecting door to an adjacent guest room. It includes a shower tub with a shower wand.

Room (225)’s dimensions are as follows:

  • Closet height: 45 inches – accessible
  • Sink height: top is 34 inches and bottom is 29.5 inches
  • Toilet height: 17.5 inches
  • Toilet handrail height: 34 inches
  • Shower handrail height: 34 inches

Room (231) is also accessible and accommodates the hearing-impaired, featuring a hearing-impaired lighting system. The door offers an accessible peephole, a connecting door to the adjacent guest room, and a kitchenette. Its dimensions are the same as those of Room (225).

Room (324) is an accessible room accommodating the hearing-impaired that features two king-sized beds. This room includes a desk that measures 30 inches on top and 26.75 inches on bottom. Its dimensions are otherwise consistent with those of the other accessible rooms.
