An appealing building exterior, front terrace, and front deck welcome guests to the downtown Holiday Inn Express which is less than a mile from the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center and a 15 minute drive from the College of Charleston.  Nine exterior upfront accessible parking spaces are offered. The front lobby, pleasantly filled with lots of natural light, provides an accessible front desk height of 34”, and a accessible computer desk height of 30.50” for guest use. A small store is offered off the front lobby, and an ATM. There is also a seating area, plus a breakfast area with free breakfast is provided. An elevator, outdoor pool and fitness facilities are available.  Out of a total number of 153 rooms in the hotel, there are 13 accessible handicap rooms, 2 of which have roll-in showers and 4 of which have shower tubs.

The accessible room toured, # 111, offers an exterior hearing impaired door bell, and provides two double queen size beds, but does not have a connecting door to an adjoining room. The  bathroom has a shower tub, plus seat and shower stand, but no accessible bathroom emergency phone.
