The Grand Hyatt is located in the heart of down town Denver. It is pet friendly, with pet fees based of weight and length of stay. This stylish, contemporary, clean, well decorated hotel is near U.C. Denver and Metropolitan State University, St. Joseph Hospital, Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center, Coors Field and shopping.
The front entrance of this hotel is not handicap accessible. There are steps. However, the side entrance, where the Valet is located, is accessible with two power, push button doors. The Valet Service is available, at a fee, though there is abundant public paid parking near the hotel. Starbucks is within feet across from the Valet parking entrance. There is also a market next door called Courier Market and Kitchen. A 711 convenience store is accessible across the street from the hotel.
Out of a total of 514 rooms in the 27 floor hotel there are at least 27 handicap accessible rooms, one on each floor. Some floors have two.
Entering the hotel one finds a welcoming accessible front desk at a height of 38”, a convenient lobby ATM, and first floor accessible washrooms.
An accessible business center offers three computers, at a height of 30”. 23 conference rooms are available on the first, second, and third floors accessed by 5 elevators. Amenities offered are a sun deck, 24 hour fitness area, tennis court, and large, inviting accessible indoor pool. Mile high rooftop location of fitness activities is pleasantly promoted. There are, however, no power doors to the fitness area or pool.
A variety of dining experiences are available in the Grand Hyatt Denver. The main restaurant offers an accessible bar, at a height of 34”. There is also an accessible ramp to the first floor in the restaurant.
Reviewer stayed in room number # 711, a spacious room with king size bed, and a connecting door to an adjacent room. Other positive aspects of this room are carpeted hallways, a roll-in shower and an accessible motion light useful when lights are turned off, conveniently available on a table at the foot of the bed.
