The Comfort Inn in Charleston, SC is located directly across the street from the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center and a short driving distance from the College of Charleston. Although parking for the Inn is otherwise tight, there are six accessible parking spots, up front,  plus a covered parking area. Front ramp access is available.

Entering the hotel one finds a welcoming front desk of handicap accessible height  of 34”. This hotel in general is simply though attractively decorated. Convenient dining area, snack stand and sitting area are available.  Free breakfast is provided. There is an outdoor pool, and fitness center, but no conference area. Braille elevators aid the blind. Laundry and valet dry cleaning are available at additional cost.   

The total number of rooms in the hotel is 129, out of which 6 are accessible. There are only 2 roll- in showers in these rooms.

The accessible room toured, # 219, although a little tight, offers a roll in shower, a queen size bed and a connecting door to an adjoining room.
